Spring has sprung (well, at least at my house). With such a cold and gray winter, I’ve been ready for the colors of spring for quite awhile. My house has been asking me for color, and I’ve finally come out of hibernation to decorate it!

Here are some simple ways that I’ve added living color to my house (quick shots via iphone). I wanted to bring the colors of spring into my kitchen, dining and living room through purple, yellows, fresh greens and sky blues.

Here’s a display on my kitchen counter. I pulled together fresh purple flowers, greenery and a concrete white washed bird candle to bring in a pop of color and freshness to the kitchen.

Fresh lemons, palm leaves and a large glass votive vase make a fun and bold center piece.

I found an old indigo blue painted board laying around my house, and I thought that it would make a great cookbook shelf. By displaying my cookbooks, I’m adding color and inspiring (hopefully) myself to cook this spring.

Not a whole lot of color, but I love bringing sand back from my beach vacations and saving it to decorate with in the spring and summer. This sand is from my husband and mine last trip to Seaside, Florida.
